# Competitive Ranking and Answer Rank

> Understand your visibility against tracked competitors and how it differs from rank inside an AI answer.

**Competitive Ranking** shows how strongly your brand appears compared with the competitors you track across the same measured answers.

It is a relative visibility metric. It does not mean an AI model has officially ranked or preferred your brand.

## How to read it

* A higher result means your brand accounts for more of the measured brand presence in your competitive set.
* Changing tracked competitors, prompts, or the date range changes the comparison.
* The result may be unavailable when there is no eligible tracked-competitor presence.

## Competitive Ranking versus Answer Rank

**Answer Rank** is your position inside a list-style AI answer. **Average Rank** summarises those eligible positions across multiple answers.

Only answers with a clear ordered position contribute to Answer Rank. Competitive Ranking instead compares how often brands appear.

## Why it matters for AEO

Competitive Ranking shows whether your AEO visibility is growing faster or slower than the other brands your audience is likely to encounter.
