# Your Free Trial and Plan in Mentioned

> Learn how your free trial works, what happens when it ends, and how to choose or change a plan.

Each Mentioned account gets one free trial. The trial starts when you sign up and lasts 14 days. During the trial, your account uses the **Base** plan.

You choose a paid plan in Mentioned. Stripe processes the payment.

## See how much of your trial is left

Open **Settings** and select the **Billing** tab. The **Billing** tab shows how many days are left in your trial.

## Choose a plan during your trial

You can choose a plan at any time during your trial. You do not lose the days that are left in your trial.

    Select **Choose plan** on the plan that you want.

    Complete the checkout form. Stripe keeps your payment details.

The days that are left in your trial move to your new plan. Your first payment occurs on the day that your trial ends. The **Billing** tab shows the date of your first payment.

Stripe needs a trial of at least two days. If less than two days of your trial are left, your first payment occurs two days after you choose the plan.

Each account gets only one trial. A new plan does not start a second trial.

## When your trial ends

If you do not choose a plan before your trial ends, these things occur:

* Mentioned stops the scheduled scans for your projects.
* You cannot run a scan or add a project.
* You cannot change your prompts or get prompt suggestions in the **Prompts** tab.
* A red banner shows at the top of each page.
* The **Billing** tab shows **Trial expired**.

Mentioned keeps your data. Your projects, prompts and past results stay in your account.

To use Mentioned again, open the **Billing** tab and select **Choose plan** on a plan. Your trial has ended, so your first payment occurs when you choose the plan.

## Change your plan

When you pay for a plan, you change it in the billing portal from Stripe.

    Select **Switch plan** on the plan that you want. The billing portal from Stripe opens.

    Follow the steps in the billing portal to confirm the new plan.

To manage your subscription in the billing portal, select **Manage subscription**.
