The Sentiment component in Brand Health Score
The Sentiment component of Brand Health Score does not use the tone of mentions alone. It combines two things: how often your brand is mentioned across every measured answer, and how positive those mentions are. Mentioned uses this measure because tone from one or two mentions should not carry a large score on its own. A brand mentioned rarely, even with a positive tone every time, receives a modest Sentiment component score. A brand mentioned often, with a positive tone, receives a strong score. Neither frequency nor tone alone can produce a high score. An answer that does not mention your brand is not treated as neutral tone. It lowers how often your brand is mentioned, the same way it affects Mention Rate.Minimum evidence
The Sentiment component needs at least one measured brand mention with a Sentiment reading before it can show a score. Below that, it shows No data, not a confident number built on too little evidence.Metric availability
The Sentiment component shows No data when no eligible brand-naming answer has a Sentiment reading. No data has no number and no green, amber, or red status. No data is not neutral Sentiment. A neutral result requires eligible evidence. A measured minimum Sentiment result is also available data, even when its score is zero. How to read it
- The Mentions view’s positive, neutral, and negative counts describe the tone of eligible brand mentions only.
- The Brand Health Score Sentiment component combines how often your brand is mentioned with how positive those mentions are.
- A measured zero is an available minimum score.
- No data means that too little evidence exists for a Sentiment reading.
- Open the measured answer when you need the full context.
Mentioned records each Sentiment reading as one of three fixed values: strongly negative, neutral, or strongly positive. It does not yet record finer shades of tone.
Why it matters for AEO
Visibility is more useful when the surrounding description supports how you want customers to understand your brand. Sentiment separates presence from the tone of that presence.Sentiment reflects the prompts, AI engines, competitors, and date range selected in your project. It does not measure the whole internet. Neutral is not the same as negative.
